Lesson Description

What is this lesson about?

This Mindfulness & Relaxation ESL lesson helps A2–B1 learners talk naturally about calm, balance, and everyday wellbeing. Students learn useful words and phrases to describe relaxation habits, mindfulness activities, and moments of peace in daily life.

How do students learn the new language?

Learners explore six key expressions — take a nap, find balance, reduce stress, focus on the breath, feel peaceful, and stay calm. The lesson begins with open discussion questions, followed by a matching task and personalised “finish-the-sentence” activity. A short reading introduces mindfulness through everyday moments, while reflection and speaking tasks invite students to connect the language to their own routines.

Why is this lesson useful?

By the end of the lesson, students can:

  • Describe how they relax and reduce stress.

  • Talk about mindfulness and healthy daily habits.

  • Express opinions about calmness, rest, and wellbeing.

What makes this lesson special?

This lesson connects English practice with genuine self-care. It gives learners the words to describe balance, calm, and awareness, helping them feel more fluent and more mindful.

Who is it for?

Perfect for A2–B1 adult learners who enjoy reflective, real-life topics. Suitable for online and in-person teaching, and ideal for tutors who want to bring mindfulness and wellbeing themes into their English classes.
