VOCABULARY & SPEAKING
Lesson Description
What is this lesson about?
This weather ESL lesson plan helps A2–B1 learners talk about weather, seasons, and how they affect daily life. Students learn practical vocabulary and practise fluency through real-life conversations.
How do students learn the new language?
The lesson introduces six useful words — forecast, sunny, rainy, tradition, mood, and season. Learners work through matching, gap-fill, and speaking questions that recycle the vocabulary in context. A short reading text gives cultural input, and picture-based discussions help students compare weather habits in their own lives.
Why is this lesson useful? By the end of the lesson, students can:
Talk about their favourite seasons and weather.
Describe traditions and activities connected to the seasons.
Share how weather affects mood and daily routines.
What makes this lesson special?
Weather is an easy, universal topic — everyone has something to say about it! This lesson encourages students to move beyond small talk and explore how seasons shape habits, activities, and feelings.
Who is it for? Ideal for A2–B1 adult learners, this lesson suits both online and classroom teaching. It’s designed for teachers who want simple, engaging material that blends vocabulary building with natural conversation.
